86th Lunch and Prize Presentation
Saturday 30th November 2019
The Club recently held its annual lunch and awards presentation at University of
Bedfordfordshire, Puteridgebury, Campus restaurant in which 70 people sat down to a very
enjoyable meal, of the 70, there were 10 guests including members from the North Bucks
Road Club and the old Luton Arrow C.C. along with the father of the Club Chair Alan Price,
no he is not the keyboard player with the 70’s pop group, The Animals although he comes
from that part of the country. And Ken France Chair of Whipsnade Parish Council and his
wife. Ken was very helpful in making arrangements for the Club to use Whipsnade Common
for the recent annual British Cycling Central Region Cyclo Cross event on the Common. The
Club made a donation of a cheque of £500 to Whipsnade Parish Council for help in restoring
the land and Shrubs back to good for the forth coming year.
After the meal Club Chairman Matt Price gave a short speech welcoming the guests and
saying what the Club had done in the both in promotions and breaking Club individual and
It was then the presentation of awards with Club member Hilary Jones presenting the
awards and the announcements under the control of Gordon Hart. The main recipients
being Club Champion Neil Allonby, Ladies Champion Judy Reid and Junior/ Juvenile
Champion Cameron Morris along with other winners being Peter Richards, Scott Brimley,
Matthew Barclay, Su-anne Bullock, Chris Tovey, Matt Price , Matt Prince and others.
The young Cameron Morris was the most prolific award winner of the afternoon with not
only the junior/ Juvenile Cups or Shield but the Founders Hill Climb Cup, Meritorious Cup for
overall year performances.
The whole function was organised by Tony Baines to his high standard with very good
service from the Restaurant management and staff, he has booked us to be back there in
November 2020 for the next years function.
