The Icknield Road Club originally based in Luton with the club room in Flitwick have for many years promoted an open 10 mile time trial. Riders enter the race from all over the Country which, uses the Ashton Clinton Bypass roads for the event. The riders cover the 10 mile course as fast as they can on their bikes and the winner this year had a time of just inside 20 minutes for the 10 mile distance.
This year we donated 50% of the income after expense to the Keech Hospice in Bramingham Lane Luton, the amount being £527.
A presentation of the cheque was made recently by Club President John Lee to Banita Mistry Regional Fundraiser.
Over the last 5 years the Club has donated to the Hospice a total of £3471 from the races. We hope to continue doing this for many years to come.
